With X Games Los Angeles 2012 taking place over the weekend, I found myself watching a lot of the skateboarding competitions. It reminded me of when I use to skateboard when I was a kid and how I use to love looking at skateboard designs. This was a time when extreme sports were a lot more popular and every boy carried at least 10 Tech Deck fingerboards to school in his backpack every day. I noticed that the X Games skate parks this year were very colorful and illustrative. Skateboarding has always been a sport full of creativity and expression. So the designs that come along with the industry often times feature great illustrations.
Today I have decided to compile a collection of skateboard designs that caught my attention and feature great illustrations on the bottom. You will not see a lot of popular skateboard brands like blind, element, birdhouse, or others in these designs although they do have some great ones. These are mainly custom designs created by designers for various situations or circumstances. In my opinion these circumstances lead to some of the best types of designs.
