Two different circus events have rolled through my town over the last year. While i was looking around at circus topics i found this great collection of old vintage circus posters. I decided to pick out some of the pre – 1900 posters from the archives and showcase them here. I thought that these particular circus posters were fascinating because they were so old and i had never seen them from this far back before. A lot of these posters are illustrated in black and white on newsprint, but there are some colored ones in this collection. A lot of them are illustrated differently than what we would be use to seeing on circus posters today, which i also thought was very interesting.
